Description

During the last 50 years, a threefold increase in the human population and doubling of the livestock population has put tremendous pressure on the fragile water and land resources of Rajasthan. Recurring and prolonged droughts, particularly in the western arid part of the state, is a common phenomenon exacerbating water shortages. Per capita availability of water in the state compared to the national average is just 70 per cent.

Studies show that despite water resources depletion, Rajasthan still has significant potential for harvesting and conserving water if an integrated water resources management approach is adopted. This can be done by developing suitable rainwater harvesting structures.

It takes Rs 2,80,000 to construct a tank for water harvesting for a family. We appeal you to make a donation for quenching thirst of a family. Apart from getting rebate in taxes that you pay you also get best wishes from the thirsty families whom you have provided water.
